Why aren't my scans showing up?
Common reasons scan counts look low — and how to fix them.
If your scan numbers look lower than expected — or empty — one of these is almost always the reason. Work down the list.
1. Scan analytics require a Premium or Team plan
On the Starter plan, codes scan and redirect normally, but scan data isn't shown. If you see a blurred sample chart with an Upgrade prompt on the code's page, that's why. Scans start appearing once you upgrade.
2. You're looking at the wrong date range
Each code's analytics default to the last 7 days. If the campaign ran earlier, open the date-range picker at the top of the Analytics section and widen the window (you can look back up to 90 days).
3. Test opens don't count
The Test link on the code's detail page opens the destination without recording a scan — by design, so your own checks don't inflate the numbers. If you've been "testing" via that link and expecting the count to rise, it won't. Scanning the actual code with a phone camera does count.
4. People are typing the URL instead of scanning
Analytics only see traffic that goes through the code's short link. If the printed piece also shows a human-readable web address, some people will type it — those visits show up in your website's analytics, not your scan count.
5. The code in print isn't this code
It happens more than you'd think: an old version of the artwork, a code regenerated in another tool, or a different code from your own list. Scan the printed piece yourself and check that the right code's counter goes up.
6. The code isn't scanning at all
If real-world scans truly aren't happening, the code may be failing physically — too small, low contrast, glare, or a crowded quiet zone. Run through QR code best practices and test a printed proof.
