Downloading your QR code for print and digital use
PNG vs. SVG, and which format to use where.
Once a code is designed, download it in the format the job calls for. Downloads are included on every plan.
How to download
- Go to QR Codes and open the code (or hover over its card in the list).
- Click Download QR code.
- Choose a format:
- Download PNG — a high-resolution image, 1024 pixels wide.
- Download SVG (vector) — a vector file that scales to any size with no quality loss.
Which format to use
- PNG — websites, emails, social posts, slide decks, and quick office printing at small sizes.
- SVG — professional printing (posters, signage, packaging, vehicle wraps) and anything you send to a designer or print shop.
The rule of thumb: screens get PNG, printers get SVG. A vector file can be blown up to billboard size and stay perfectly crisp; a PNG enlarged past its natural size goes soft, and soft edges hurt scannability.
Tips for print jobs
- Print shops overwhelmingly prefer vector artwork — send the SVG and let them size it.
- If you must use the PNG, keep the printed code at a size where 1024 pixels stays sharp (roughly up to 25 cm / 10 in wide at standard print quality).
- Whatever the format, keep the quiet zone clear when placing the code into a layout, and test a printed proof before the full run.
Remember: downloading is not a commitment. The printed code keeps working even if you later change its destination — that's the point of dynamic codes.
